We cut grooming from 90 minutes to 30. The "everyone votes, then reveal" flow killed the senior-engineer-anchoring problem in one go.

Most planning tools feel like they were designed by someone who's never sat through a real grooming session.
the old way
- Login, then a 4-step "create your workspace" wizard
- Someone reads the number out loud → anchoring city
- Retros live in a Miro board nobody opens again
- Action items vanish into Slack DMs
- Mobile? "use the desktop app"
team buro
- Click → URL → done. Members join with their name.
- Cards stay hidden until reveal — no anchoring
- Every retro saved, searchable, exportable
- Action items carry into next sprint's board
- First-class on phones — vote on the bus
fewer meetings. better estimates.
The retros are the real win. Action items don't disappear anymore — they show up at the top of the next retro until they're done. Genuinely changed our team.
We tried four planning tools. team buro is the first one nobody complained about. The mascot got named honorary teammate in week two.
the obvious ones, answered.
Is it really free?
Yes — for any team size, forever. We may add a "Pro" tier later for very large orgs that want SAML, audit logs, and Jira integration. The core features stay free.
Do I need to make an account?
No. Start a room, pick a display name, share the link. If you want history saved across devices, you can sign in — it’s optional.
How does the "real-time" part work?
WebSockets with optimistic UI. Your vote registers instantly on your screen and propagates to the room in under 100ms on most connections. We’ve designed for spotty conference wifi.
Can I use my own card deck?
Yep. Fibonacci, modified Fibonacci, T-shirt sizes, or write your own values. The deck is per-room.
Where’s my data stored?
EU (Frankfurt) by default; US-East available on request. Rooms auto-expire after 90 days unless saved to a workspace. We don’t sell anything.
Mobile app?
The web app is fully mobile-first. We don’t have a native app and probably won’t — your browser already does the job.
